Introduction

The Timer is TimerHub's general-purpose countdown — the one to reach for whenever you just need to know "tell me when this is done." It's built for the everyday moments that don't need a specialized tool: boiling an egg, timing a shower, giving a five-minute warning before a meeting ends, limiting a study break, or making sure the kids get off the tablet on schedule. No sign-up, no app to install — just open the page, set a duration and go.

Unlike our dedicated Countdown Timer, Pomodoro and Interval Timer tools, which are tuned for specific workflows, the Timer is deliberately simple: one duration, one ring, one clear finish. That simplicity is the point — it stays out of your way.

How to Use

Choose a quick preset chip (1, 5, 10, 15, 25, 30 or 60 minutes) or type an exact duration into the hours, minutes and seconds fields. Press Start to begin the countdown — the progress ring fills in as time passes and the digits count down in real time. While running you can pause and resume at any moment, or nudge the remaining time up or down a minute at a time without starting over. When the timer finishes, TimerHub plays a chime, shows a completion message, and gives you a one-tap way to start a new timer with the same or a different duration.

Tips

Turn on fullscreen when a timer needs to be visible from across a room — the digits and ring scale up and the rest of the page disappears. If you're timing something where being a minute early is fine but being late isn't, use the +1 minute control instead of resetting the whole countdown. And if you find yourself setting the same duration often, a preset chip is one click faster than the picker — the last preset you used stays highlighted so you can find it again quickly.
