Introduction
The Online Alarm turns any browser tab into a simple wake-up, nap or reminder alarm. There's nothing to install and nothing to configure beyond picking a time — set it, leave the tab open, and TimerHub will ring at the exact moment you chose, with a clear on-screen countdown the whole way there.
It's built for the moments where a full phone alarm app is overkill: a quick reminder while you're already at your desk, a nap timer on your laptop, or a "wake me up" alarm while you work with headphones in. If you need a precise interval instead of a fixed clock time, our Countdown Timer or Timer may suit you better.
How to Use
Pick the time you want the alarm to ring using the time field — if that time has already passed today, TimerHub automatically schedules it for tomorrow and tells you so directly above the picker (for example, "Rings tomorrow at 6:30 AM"). Choose an alarm tone — Classic, Gentle or Urgent — then press Activate Alarm. The card switches to a live countdown showing exactly how much time is left. When the countdown reaches zero, the alarm rings and a prominent Stop Alarm button appears — tap it to silence the alarm and reset. You can cancel an armed alarm at any time with the Cancel Alarm button instead of waiting for it to ring.

Use Cases
People use the Online Alarm to wake themselves up from a short nap at their desk, to set a reminder to check on something cooking on the stove, to give themselves a hard stop for a study session, or as a simple medication reminder while they're already sitting at the computer. It's also handy as a backup alarm alongside your phone when you want a second, independent way to be reminded of something at a specific time.
Tips
Because this alarm depends on the tab staying open, it works best as a desk or desktop companion rather than a replacement for your phone's alarm when you're away from your computer. Keep the tab pinned so you don't accidentally close it, and consider using the Gentle tone for naps and the Urgent tone for anything you really can't afford to sleep through. If you just need to know when a fixed amount of time has passed rather than a specific clock time, the Timer is a better fit.
FAQ
Common questions
Yes. This is a genuine limitation of any browser-based alarm: the countdown and the alarm sound only run while this tab is open in your browser. If you close the tab, close the browser, or the browser is force-quit, the alarm is cancelled and will not ring. Keep the tab open (it can be in the background) until the alarm fires.
It works in mobile browsers the same way it does on desktop, as long as the tab stays open and active. Mobile operating systems are more aggressive about suspending background tabs than desktops are, so this alarm is more reliable on a phone if the screen stays on and the browser stays in the foreground.
Generally, no. When a phone is locked, mobile browsers are typically throttled or fully suspended by the operating system to save battery, which means the countdown can pause and the alarm sound may not play at all. For anything you truly can't miss while your phone is locked or asleep, use your phone's built-in alarm clock app instead — reserve this tool for times you're actively at your computer or your phone screen is on.
TimerHub automatically schedules the alarm for the next occurrence of that time, meaning tomorrow. The preview text above the time field always tells you plainly whether the alarm will ring "today" or "tomorrow" before you activate it.
Yes. Choose between Classic (a bright repeating tone), Gentle (a soft, spaced-out bell, kinder for naps) and Urgent (a faster, more insistent pattern) before you activate the alarm. The tone can't be changed once the alarm is armed — cancel it and set it again to switch.
Yes. While the alarm is armed and counting down, the button changes to Cancel Alarm — one tap disarms it and returns you to the time picker with no sound played.
