Introduction

The TimerHub tally counter is a deliberately simple tool for anyone who just needs to count something — reps, people, votes, boxes, days. There's a large, easy-to-read number, two big tap targets sized for thumbs, and an adjustable step size so you can count by ones, fives or tens without repeated tapping.

How to Use

Tap the plus button to add, and the minus button to subtract — each tap moves the count by whatever step size is currently selected (1, 5 or 10). Change the step using the chips below the buttons. Tap Reset to instantly return to zero; there's no confirmation dialog, since a tally isn't destructive to any saved data. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or plus/minus keys to count, and R to reset.

Features

  • Large, high-contrast number designed to be read at a glance, even mid-workout
  • Adjustable step size — count by 1, 5 or 10 with a single tap
  • Full keyboard support for fast desktop counting
  • Optional click sound for confirmation without looking at the screen
  • Large touch targets that work reliably one-handed on a phone
  • Instant reset with no confirmation dialogs slowing you down

Use Cases

Counting reps in a workout. Prop your phone up and tap once per rep, or set the step to 5 for quick set totals.

Counting attendees. Tally people entering a room, venue or event without a physical clicker.

Scorekeeping. Track points in casual games where a step size of 1, 5 or 10 matches your scoring system.

Counting inventory. Use a step size of 10 to tally boxes or units quickly while doing stock counts.

Tracking habits. Keep a running daily or weekly count of a habit you're building, and reset it whenever a new period starts.

Tips

Switch step size on the fly — for example, count individual reps at step 1, then bump to step 5 to quickly add a whole completed set. On desktop, keep your hand on the arrow keys for the fastest possible counting rhythm, and use R whenever you want a clean slate between sessions.

FAQ

Common questions about the tally counter

Yes. The counter allows negative numbers, which is useful for tracking net changes (like inventory in and out) rather than only upward counts.

The current count persists in your browser for this device while the tab stays open. Closing the tab clears it, so it's best suited to single-session counting rather than long-term record keeping.

Tap one of the step chips below the counter (1, 5 or 10) to change how much each tap of plus or minus adds or removes.

Arrow Up or the plus key increments, Arrow Down or the minus key decrements, and R resets the count to zero.

Yes — the buttons are large and spaced for confident one-handed tapping, and the number is sized to read from a distance if you prop your phone up.

Yes, tap the speaker icon to toggle a short click sound on every increment or decrement. It's off by default so the tool stays silent in quiet settings.
