Introduction
The Lap Timer is built around one idea: the lap list is the point, not an afterthought. Instead of watching a single running clock, you get a live stats row showing your best lap, your average lap, and your lap count, plus a full split history you can scan the moment you finish a session — ideal for track workouts, swim sets, driving laps or any repeating course.
How to Use
Tap the center button to start, then tap the lap button every time you complete a circuit — a track loop, a pool length, a driving lap. Each tap logs a split and instantly updates your best lap, average lap and lap count above the clock. Pause any time with the center button, and reset (available only while paused) clears the whole session so you can start a fresh set.
Features
Live best-lap, average-lap and lap-count stats that update after every split
Millisecond-accurate timing with a drift-corrected engine
Full lap history with split time and cumulative total for every lap
Automatic best/worst lap highlighting so consistency issues jump out immediately
Fullscreen mode for poolside, trackside or dashboard use
Optional lap-confirmation click for eyes-free operation
Use Cases
Running splits. Lap every time you pass the same marker on a track or loop, and compare each lap against your average to judge pacing in real time.
Swim laps. Tap at each wall touch to build an accurate length-by-length record without needing a poolside coach to call splits.
Race and driving practice. Lap at the start/finish line on a circuit to track consistency across a practice session, not just your single fastest lap.
Interval-based training. Use laps to mark the end of each rep or round in structured training, then review the full spread afterward.
Tips
Average lap is the most honest signal of overall pace — a single great lap can hide an otherwise inconsistent session, so watch how close your splits sit to the average rather than only chasing the best-lap badge. The lap list shows your most recent lap at the top; scroll down to find lap 1 at the very bottom of the list.
FAQ
Common questions about the lap timer
Both use the same accurate timing engine, but the Lap Timer foregrounds your best lap, average lap and lap count in a stats row above the clock — it's built for people whose main goal is comparing splits rather than watching a single elapsed number.
It's the mean of all recorded lap splits (the time between consecutive laps), updated live as you add more laps.
Yes. Splits are recorded to the centisecond, so even short pool lengths of 15-30 seconds are captured with plenty of precision.
Once you have two or more laps, the fastest split is highlighted in green and the slowest in red, based purely on the time between consecutive laps.
Yes — mount your phone in fullscreen mode and tap lap at the start/finish line each time round. The stats row will show your best and average lap for the session automatically.
Yes, use the speaker icon in the top-right of the tool to toggle the lap confirmation click on or off at any time.
